This page explains how bookings, inspections, payments and your information work with roadworthy.me. It is written in plain language. If anything is unclear, call or email us before you book.
roadworthy.me is a mobile vehicle inspection service operating on the southern Gold Coast, Queensland, and across Tweed Heads and surrounding areas of northern New South Wales. We travel to you.
Our approval details are available on request, and we will show them to you or to any authorised officer when asked.
All of our services are mobile services Mobile service. We inspect cars, four-wheel drives, motorcycles, caravans, trailers and boat trailers, within the weight and vehicle limits set by each state’s rules.
An inspection is a visual and functional check against the relevant government inspection standard on the day. It is not a full mechanical inspection or a pre-purchase report. It does not tell you how long a vehicle will last, and it does not check things outside the standard, such as the condition of the engine internals, service history or odometer accuracy. If you are buying a used vehicle, consider a separate pre-purchase inspection.
Because we come to you, the inspection location matters. Before we arrive, please make sure:
For safety, we may assess the site before starting. We may reduce the scope of an inspection, move the inspection to a safer spot, or decline to inspect if we reasonably believe the site is unsafe. You may be asked to wait at a safe distance during parts of the inspection.
We issue the certificate or lodge the report electronically as required by the relevant state authority. Certificates and reports are valid only for the periods set by the state, and can only be used for the purpose they were issued for.
You will receive a list of the items that did not meet the standard and why. We do not issue a certificate or report for a vehicle that does not meet the standard. You then have 14 days to repair the listed items and have the vehicle re-inspected by us. Re-inspection within 14 days is free. After 14 days, a new inspection and a new fee will apply.
We are an inspection service. We do not have to carry out repairs, and you are free to have repairs done by any repairer you choose.
We rely on the information you give us. If you leave out or misstate something important, such as a modification or accident damage, we may not be able to complete the inspection or the result may not reflect the vehicle’s true condition.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. This includes that our services will be provided with due care and skill, be reasonably fit for their purpose, and be provided within a reasonable time. Nothing on this page limits or removes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.
If we do not meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to have the service provided again or to a refund or compensation, depending on whether the failure is major or minor. Please contact us first so we can put it right.
We collect only the personal information we need to book, carry out and record your inspection.
We share information with Transport and Main Roads (Queensland) or Transport for NSW where required to lodge an inspection, and with service providers that help us run the business, such as our SMS and email delivery providers, calendar and email systems and payment processor. We do not sell your personal information. We take reasonable steps to keep it secure.
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. Some inspection records must be kept for a minimum period and cannot be deleted on request.
If you are unhappy with our service, please tell us first by phone or email, with your booking details, and we will respond promptly and try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can also:
